In the TED Talk "Why I Love a Country that Betrayed Me" actor, George Takei, talked about his time in a Japanese-American prison camp. At the young age of five years old, Takei was forced into a Japanese-American prison camp with his family after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Even though he was discriminated against, he still was in love with the country he called his home, America. He talked about how Japanese-American soldiers still fought in World War II even after they were heavily discriminated against. They wanted to be there, and they were one of the reasons the Allies won the war. I love this TED Talk because it proves that anyone deserves to live in America no matter who you are or what you look like. Many people see living in America as a privilege, and they would do anything for this country. This relates to the American dream because it proves how we will go through our ups and downs as a nation, but in the end we all love America and would do anything to continue to live here.
